ABSTRACT
FE – based methodology of numerical modelling of the most important aspects, for engineering practice, of assessing safety and serviceability of anti-flood embankments is described. In particular, formulation of transient pore fluid flow problem, coupled with mechanical deformation and stability analysis is given. Examples, illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach on practical cases, performed with the software package Z SOIL.PC, are shown.
