ABSTRACT
Clear summer and winter seasons are characteristic of boreal forests. The mean July temperature is around 15-20°C and the mean January temperature is as low as −10 to −20°C. The annual variation is smaller near the oceans than in the middle of the continents. The climate in the boreal forests is rather humid because the rather low temperatures hinder evaporation, and the rainfall is usually small.
