ABSTRACT

Modeling of orbital wall reconstruction implant was fully digital. The geometry was created using different kinds of CAD software and the volumetric net was created using 3DataExpert (DeskArtes Oy, Finland). We chose a volumetric net because tissues and cells can grow through it and the mass of the implant is small. This reduces temperature sensitivity. This volumetric net can be used as a carrier bag for biomaterial which enables e.g. bone growth inside the bag.
