ABSTRACT: The application of electronic elements introduces a number of advantages as well as disadvantages. The operation of systems is more ecological, smoother and cheaper. Also the area of safety, both passive and active, is optimised. The paper deals with dependability analysis procedure of a highly reliable item. In the paper there is also presented a methodology proposing a procedure for accelerated test of the electronic device and its assessment. Since the reliability assessment of highly reliable items is quite difficult – due to naturally long time periods – the accelerated tests are good choice for obtaining and prove the reliability data. It is believed that due to relatively significant number of items made the test range will compare and prove their behaviour properly. It is also believed that the test will allow us to decide in terms of the next step what to do with the items already mounted in the system.
