ABSTRACT
The infrastructure for the distribution of gas in Brazil is still poorly developed, especially when the geographical magnitude of Brazil is considered. In 2007, Europe had a transport network of high-pressure gas pipelines that was about 180,000 kilometers long and about 1,000,000 kilometers of low pressure distribution lines (Prates et al., 2006).
