ABSTRACT
The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) represent a significant group of environmental contaminants, many of which show carcinogenic and mutagenic activities. As a result of many anthropogenic activities these substances are emitted mainly into the atmosphere, which represents the most significant transport medium. Traffic emissions are, besides energetics, the most significant sources of emissions (WCISLO, E. 1998).
