ABSTRACT
The study of the existence of possible change of deterioration rate of a deteriorating system in industrial problems is of great importance, see (Doksum and Hoyland 1992). It seems sensible to consider the maintenance problem in this framework. When the system undergoes a change of rate of deterioration it seems reasonable to incorporate the on-line information available about the system in the maintenance decision rule.
