ABSTRACT

Cylindrical panels may constitute parts of shell constructions. Besides, they may be used independently, for example, in the construction as coverings. In the operation process the loaded panels are subjected to corrosion. In some cases corrosion leads to wear of the panel and this is expressed by thickness change. These changes depend not only on physico-chemical properties of the metal-medium coupling, but also on stress on contact surface of the panel with medium. Under a load and considering wear a panel may lose its bearing capacity. Determination of the critical value and conditions under which it occurs, is of great practical interest. The present paper is devoted to solution of this problem.
