ABSTRACT

In the construction industry, many concretes are used for the civil engineering structure from the 19th century to the present and are fundamental subsistent for our daily life. However, when the concrete loses the function by deterioration and is dismantled, the application of recycled aggregate made by the dismantled concrete is limited because compression strength of concrete made by recycled aggregate comes down than concrete made by the ordinary aggregate (Kawano et al. 1994). In addition, concrete is pointed out about some demerits to the environment and the landscape because cement has frosty and heavy image from ash color, so that it inflicts bad influence for the landscape. In recent years, the study of the eco-cement which used rubbish and industrial waste (Ohsumi 2003), eco-concrete (Japan Concrete Institute 1998), and concrete in multi-natural type, which have the function of afforestation or creation of underwater forest (Akida et al. 1996; Advanced Construction Technology Center 2001; Tanaka et al. 2005; Yoshida et al. 2006), is promoted. So, we think that we must find the new concrete in consideration of the environment and the landscape. Since the purpose in this study considers about civil engineering material which considered the environment and solidification material instead of cement, we focus attention on Ca-based solidification material which has neutral character for pH and natural color like soil.
