ABSTRACT

Nowadays, ready-mixed plants are predominantly used in concrete industry for the manufacture of concrete, due to their suitability for close quality control, use in congested sites, and use of agitator trucks to prevent segregation and maintain workability (Neville & Brooks 1987). In general, lengthy hauling time and extreme temperature (due to excessive hot or cold weather) can adversely affect the fresh and hardened properties of concrete by accelerating or retarding the rate of moisture loss and the rate of cement hydration.
