ABSTRACT

The testing in this study is divided in two phases. Phase I is a small, 1:20, scale test that focuses on the rigid body and elastic response of the structure. Phase II is a large, 1:8, scale test that focuses on the non-linear response of the crane, including yielding of cross sections, local buckling and collapse. The tests are conducted on a six-degree-of-freedom shake table at the University at Buffalo and will utilize the three translational degrees of freedom.
