ABSTRACT

The investigation was made on manure cellars in the counties of Møre og Romsdal and Sør-Trøndelag, located on four different farms (1, 2, 3 and 4), built in the years 1971-83. The cellars studied were selected in cooperation with the agricultural departments of the county governors in both counties based on earlier results. All cellars had been exposed to liquid manure from cows all the time. Three of the cellars (2, 3 and 4) were open between cowshed and the manure cellar through grates while the last one (1) was closed with scrape grooves below the manure grate.
