ABSTRACT
The mix proportions for both concrete and ECC are shown in Tables 1 and 2, respectively. The concrete mix was designed as per the American Concrete Institute, ACI 211.11 (1982). The ECC used was in the form of ready mixed powder. The ECC incorporated high modulus polyethylene fibres. The fibre length was 12.7 mm and diameter 38 microns, tensile strength was 1690 MPa and elastic modulus, 40,600 MPa.
