ABSTRACT
The risk of flood has increased these years due to increase of extreme rainfall events increasing the risk of river levee failure. The stability of levee against seepage has been assessed based on seepage flow analysis and safety factor calculated by the circular arc method. However, since the allowance in safety would in nature be determined based on the stability of the fill against groundwater flow within the levee, it could be required to understand the probability of the groundwater flow and the uncertainty in resistance of the fill.
