ABSTRACT
The Shanghai metro system which currently operates 8 lines with a total length of 228.4 km is one of the fastest growing metro systems in the world. According to the plan, the system will include 13 lines with a total length over 500 km in 2012. Therefore, Shanghai metro system has stepped into a period of network-scale construction from previous single-line scale construction, which inevitably raises new risk issues.
