ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The disaster management exercise ‘Eagle One’ is held to test the multidisciplinary use of geo-information within a networked environment. A number of platforms were developed to view and share information. All information was shared through a peer to peer network. The exercise is extensively evaluated. Eagle One has shown the values of good communication networks and the availability of a large database of geo-data. Most importantly, the evaluation concluded that by providing systems and applications that enable all actors to conduct geographic analysis in an easily accessible way, disaster management decision-making procedures are improved.
