ABSTRACT
Fatigue is one of the major design criteria for ship structures, due to high cyclic stresses mainly caused by the seaway and to relatively high notch effects in thewelded structure. Different approaches exist for the fatigue assessment of welded structures, which have recently been summarized by Radaj et al. (2006).
