ABSTRACT
For structural design and safety assessment, the characteristics of both actions and action effects should be identified, where the term action is an external load applied to the structure (direct action) or an imposed deformation or acceleration (indirect action), while the term action effect is an effect of actions on a global structure or structural components (ISO 2007). The present paper is focused on the characteristics of actions due to gas explosion and fire.
