ABSTRACT
Unquestionably a lot has been learned from the performed monitoring and research. The results of this process have been noticed abroad. In 2005 the Netherlands hosted the fifth International symposium of TC28 on “Underground Construction in Soft Ground”. Researchers and experts from all over the world came to Amsterdam, to learn about the Dutch observations on tunnelling and to visit the construction works for the new North-South city metro system inAmsterdam.
