ABSTRACT
Strengthening reinforced concrete (RC) structures with externally bonded fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites has become a popular technique in recent years (e.g. Teng et al. 2002a; Holaway & Teng 2008). The technique may be used to enhance the loadcarrying capacities of RC beams, slabs and columns as well as the ductility of RC columns through lateral confinement.
