ABSTRACT

The primary work of unsaturated seepage of landslide is determining the unsaturated hydraulic parameters of every stratum, which include the soilwater characteristic curve and permeability function of unsaturated soil. Xietan landslide is a pre-existing landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and is constituted of the slide body, the slip zone, the sliding-disturbed zone, and the bedrock from up to down. The infiltrative strata of Xietan landslide are reduced to three strata such as slide body, slip zone and slip bed through combining sliding-disturbed zone and permeable bedrock into one stratum. The main hydraulic parameters needed in unsaturated seepage analysis include the soil-water characteristic curve and permeability function. A 2D finite element software SEEP/W is used for the unsaturated seepage analysis. In the seepage model, sliding-disturbed zone and permeable bedrock are combined into one stratum, namely slip bed, and equivalent continuum model is used to model all strata.
