ABSTRACT
Prior to his being appointed Vice-Rector, Fatih University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2006, Dr Alparslan Açikgenç served the same distinguished university as Dean, Faculty of Arts & Sciences, for five years. Dr Açikgenç earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago in 1983. He is a prolific author in the spheres of ethics, logic, and philosophy of science and history of Islamic philosophy.
