ABSTRACT

I. INTRODUCTION Since the discovery of vitamin E in 1922 by Evans and Bishop, its role in human health has been extensively investigated. Vitamin E refers to a group of eight naturally occurring compounds-α-, β-, γ -, δ-tocopherols and tocotrienols. α-Tocopherol, especially the naturally occurring d-α-tocopherol, has the highest biological activity (1,2).
