ABSTRACT
Polymers have found applications in virtually every discipline of medicine, ranging from simple extracorporeal devices to intricately designed implants. Since each medical application has its own highly specialized requirements, a range of diverse materials with good biocompatibility but different chemical and physicomechanical properties must be available.
