ABSTRACT
Throughout this chapter, F will denote a field. The four most commonly used fields in linear algebra are ℚ = rationals, ℝ = reals, ℂ = complex numbers and ℤ p = the integers modulo a prime p. We will also let ℕ = {1, 2, …}, the set of natural numbers.
