ABSTRACT

In summary, Rh2POM and presumably other TMSPs have promise as electrochemical oxidation catalysts. Unlike mvRuOx, they are stable at physiological pH. Further study is needed to determine if the range of application to biochemical compounds is as extensive as with mvRuOx. The work cited above also demonstrates the utility of sol-gel processing as a means of immobilizing catalysts; particularly promising is the immobilization of catalysts that have molecular sizes greater than the pore widths of the sol-gel materials.
