ABSTRACT

Each face A — (^4o,^4i) of the n-cube is the result of sampling a population S = { 1 , . . . , n}, with a view of testing the validity of a yes-no hypothesis. Here A\ and A0 are the subsets of 5 where the hypothesis does or does not hold, respectively. A third truth-value "not-yet-known" can be assigned to each element in S\(AoL)Ai), Two results A and B of this sampling are said to be incompatible if the two faces A and B are disjoint.
