1 INTRODUCTION In [1], Mikenberg, da Costa and Chuaqui presented a mathematical analysis of the concept of pragmatic truth based on the notion of partial structures. This analysis gave rise to an impressive number of papers in which the concept was further elaborated and applied to important problems in a variety of domains, such as logic (see, for instance, [2]), the foundations of the theory of probability ([3]), philosophy of science (see, for instance, [4], [5], [6], and [7]), and the philosophy of mathematics (see [8]).
