ABSTRACT

A continuum is a compact and connected metric space. A continuum is said to be hereditarily unicoherent if the intersection of every two of its subcontinua is connected.

The set of arc components of a subset W of X will be denoted by A(W). If * € X, the pair (X, *) will be called a pointed dendroid (p-dendroid), the order of (X, *) is the cardinality of A(X \ {*}).
