ABSTRACT
Let B be a convex set in the plane. Let D be the simple closed curve which is the boundary of B. We determine the span of D x J ,where J is an arc. We calculate the spans or find bounds for the spans of various related spaces . We apply these results to rectangular boxes of the form B = [0, w] x [0,1] x [0, h] and various related spaces.
