Cleaning a food processing plant is one way to make sure that there is no contamination from the raw ingredients to a final product. To implement the cleaning process, the good manufacture practice (GMP) regulations issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) serve as a frame of reference. B.Definition of Terms
Three definitions are germane to our discussion:
1. Cleaning. A process which will remove soil and prevent accumulation of food residues which may decompose or support the growth of disease-causing organisms or the production of toxins.
