ABSTRACT
Because the food processing industry is labor intensive, that is, reliant on large numbers of employees, personnel is a key resource to a company. It is management’s responsibility to hire hygiene-conscious employees. The economic effect of a foodborne disease outbreak can be devastating to a food processing plant. The public has a right to expect safe, sanitary, and wholesome food from any food producing company.
