ABSTRACT
Integration of various steps/operations presents one of the most promising ways for intensifying (bio)chemical processes. It can be achieved either by combining reaction and separation in a single reactive separation step or by combining two (or more) separation techniques in a hybrid separation unit. Such an integration may bring a number of advantages to the process under consideration, not just a decrease in the size of equipment.
