ABSTRACT
The Health Care Financing Administration estimated that expenditures for dental treatment approached $60 billion in 2000 [1]. Most of this money was spent repairing teeth and periodontal tissues. In general dentistry practices, nearly 75% of all operative dentistry is devoted to replacement of failed restorations [2, 3].
