Figure 4 shows a polar capillary GLC resolution of the nonesterified blood plasma sterols from a patient with phytosterolemia before (A) and after (B) oxidative destruction of unsaturated sterols (45). A 15-m column length and an 8-min running time provided a good resolution with the saturated sterol emerging ahead of the unsaturated one (separation factor 1.035).
