ABSTRACT

Table 3 gives the quantitative estimates for the various steryl esters in total plasma and isolated lipoprotein fractions of a patient with sitosterolemia (37). There are minor differences in the composition of the steryl esters between the two lipoprotein fractions. The VLDL fraction contains more esterified cholesterol than plant sterol in comparison with the combined LDL+ HDL fraction.
