ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the water situation in Taiz, Yemen and investigates the causes of a water crisis in the area. Taiz is a prominent and rapidly developing area showing much socioeconomic potential which could potentially be hampered if the National Water Resource Authority (NWRA) is not given more authority over Taiz’s water resource management strategies. An evaluation of current water resource management strategies in the city of Taiz reveals an urgent need to enhance the responsibilities of the national water resource authority (NWRA). In order to meet the demands of an overwhelming water crisis, it is essential to develop an integrated water resource management scheme.
