ABSTRACT

Surgical debulking procedures for treatment of chronic lymphedema have become of interest as potential palliative operations for chronic end-stage lymphedema and resulted in improved outcomes. Liposuction is another technique that aims to obliterate the epifascial compartment by using a “circumferential” suction-assisted lipectomy. Long-term success of debulking surgery is highly dependent on patient compliance to maintain postoperative complex decongestive therapy.
