ABSTRACT

The combination of lipedema and primary lymphedema is uncommon. The treatment of lipedema involved with primary lymphedema basically concurs with that of uncomplicated lipedema (strict weight control, decongestive lymphatic therapy, liposuction, and maintenance therapy with medical compression stockings); however, the application of intermittent pneumatic compression should be cautiously controlled as pumps could potentially cause or deteriorate genital lymphedema.
