ABSTRACT

Lymphangioma is a benign cystic vascular lymphatic malformation. It can be single or multiple, micro or macro, uni- or multilocular, simple or mixed (hemo-lymphangioma).

Lymphangiomas in pediatrics carry risks for a variety of conditions due to their location: functional mechanical disorders, infection, intracystic hemorrhage (Kasabach-Merritt syndrome) and/or progressive expansion.

Lymphangioma is a disease of the pediatric age, being congenital and generally easy to diagnose. Its prenatal diagnosis and eventual treatment are also possible.
