ABSTRACT

Capillary malformations can exist as a single lesion or a visible sign of a complex vascular malformation. So a precise diagnostic is in any case mandatory. The most important diagnostic tool is the continuous clinical investigation. If there is any sign of complex malformation, sonography, Doppler, thermography, and in special cases, optical coherence tomography and laser Doppler are necessary. More invasive investigations like magnetic resonance imaging and angiography are needed in case of deeper infiltrations.
