ABSTRACT

In the primary therapy of port-wine stains (PWSs), there is no place for surgical excision. This is the field of laser therapy. Only for secondary complications in untreated PWS or in mixed lymphatic capillary malformation, could surgical resection be indicated. But even in these cases, surgical resection is being replaced by pharmacological therapy that can be combined with laser therapy.
