ABSTRACT

Nowadays, with the rapid development of high entropy alloys, it is widely accepted that a molten alloy system where the effect of entropy plays the dominant role (Ω≥1.1) can be called high entropy alloys. In the solid state, the microstructures can be solid solutions, intermetallics, and amorphous. Serrated flow, as a typical feature of the disordered response in the space-time correlation field, is widely observed in several kinds of materials, such as yielding platforms in low carbon steels, aluminum-magnesium alloys, amorphous alloys, and nano-materials, which are also investigated in the high entropy alloys. This chapter summarizes the various microstructures of high entropy alloys and their preparation methods. It also summarizes the serration behaviors found in high entropy alloys and the influencing factors of this.
