ABSTRACT

High entropy alloys (HEAs) are multi-principal alloys having at least five principal elements in the concentration range of 5–35 at.%. These alloys have excellent mechanical properties, and further, their properties can be modified through the addition and composition variation of the desired alloying elements. These unique characteristics of high entropy alloys make them a promising technologically important material. Soft magnetic materials must have good mechanical properties, structural stability at high temperature, and low coercivity with high magnetization. Recent reports confirmed that high entropy alloys showed promising magnetic properties which are vital for technological applications of these alloys in the area of soft magnetic materials. Several reports confirmed that the magnetic, electrical, and mechanical properties of these materials can be modified by the variation of alloying elements. The present chapter summarizes some key results for the magnetic high entropy alloys.
