ABSTRACT
This chapter describes electromagnetics, microwave engineering, wearable systems, and antenna design process and measurements. Measurement techniques of wearable antennas and radio frequency medical systems in the vicinity of a human body are presented in this chapter. The measurement of S parameters is the first stage in electromagnetics, microwave engineering and antenna measurements. Setups for microwave engineering measurements will be presented in this chapter. Maximum input and output measurements of communication systems are presented in this chapter. Intermodulation measurements, second intercept point and third intercept point, are discussed in this chapter. Antenna measurements will be discussed in this chapter. It is more convenient to measure antennas in the receiving mode. If the measured antenna is reciprocal, the antenna’s radiation characteristics are identical for the receiving and transmitting modes. The radiation characteristics of antennas are usually measured in the far field.
