ABSTRACT

Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and AI play a vital role in assisting the smart systems. As the IoT devices generate a huge amount of data, handling the data is a challenging task. Many healthcare systems architecture based on IoT have been proposed. Some healthcare systems require a large amount of data transmission to the cloud server for processing and analyzing data. The real-time processing becomes failed as the latency increases, due to the distance of IoT devices and the cloud server. So the efficiency of the system in monitoring the patient becomes reduced. But the Fog based healthcare system reduced the latency and reduces the amount of data transmission to the cloud server. Some architecture allows the user mobility, so the user may be working in a factory or playing sports. But some other systems don’t support user mobility. Smart phones are commonly used in the healthcare system that supports user mobility. In this chapter, the architecture of the healthcare system has been studied and an architecture of the elderly patient care system has been proposed. The health care system is categorized into two groups: the healthcare system with user mobility and the healthcare system without user mobility support. Many architectures of the healthcare system have been compared in this chapter.
