ABSTRACT
The Healthcare sector is rapidly changing through government regulations, technological innovations, and patient expectations. Institutions providing healthcare services need to embrace these changes to continue providing their services more effectively to contribute towards the quality of life and stay relevant in business. Machine Learning has proved its efficacy in many other fields and holds a lot of potential for this field. This chapter provides a broad introduction to Machine Learning in healthcare and sets the tone for more specific discussions in subsequent chapters.
