ABSTRACT
Now that I am writing this article in March, 1980, I am in my 64th year and by no means do I think that it is 'too long' . But the proof of the validity of the galactic halo model already exists and I have lived to see this. The limits of this article do not allow me to discuss this point in more detail. I shall restrict myself to a brief explanation and some references to the literature.
