ABSTRACT

After the creation of the BCS theory in 1957 and the papers [31] by Gorkov, I almost lost interest in the theory of superconductivity. Superconductivity was no longer an enigma (it had been an enigma for a long 46 years after its discovery in 1911). Quite a lot of other attractive problems existed and I thought that I would drop superconductivity for ever. It was merely by inertia that, in 1959, when it became finally clear that the effective charge in the \11-theory was €efT = e = 2e0 , I compared [68] the \11theory with the available experimental data and made sure that everything was all right. I will also mention the note [69] devoted to the allowance for pressure in the theory of second-order phase transitions as applied to a superconducting transition.
