ABSTRACT

I have already related several times the story of how I became a theoretical physicist to my students and postgraduates-certainly I do not write in order to speak of myself once again. It is simply that I am concerned with many aspects of the question of choosing the path and profession of physicist and this question is undoubtedly vital and topical for young people! In any case, they have always listened with interest. The role of chance, of a friendly hand. . . all this cannot be formalized and, for this reason alone, is interesting.
